COVID in NYS Prisons
Good morning family. I pray you and your loved ones inside are all well.
The virus has entered the prison system. Sing Sing has had its 1st COVID related inmate death. A 58 year old gentleman who worked in the library. There are many more positive inmates throughout the system and our Governor has yet to address questions posed to him regarding how he will prevent the spread at the facilities at his daily 11am press conference. We need to call him out on this. Our loved ones lives depend on us to be a roaring lion for them. Call the Governors office, demand he safeguard our loved ones. They suspended family visits to prevent the spread of the virus but did not put any safety provisions in place to prevent staff from spreading it to our loved ones. This is criminal negligence on the part of NYS DOCCS! On 4/1 they finally approved staff to wear face masks, what about our family members??
Do not be silent, act, speak up on behalf of the thousands of men and women who are being handed a potential death sentence!
I will end this post on a positive note, Im praying with you and for you.
In the midst of the storm we all feel bewildered, afraid, uncertain and I daresay even angry, we ask God "why are you letting this happen?" But the reality is this virus is not from God, this has mans hand all over it, the world did this! Stand firm in your faith, knowing Jesus stands with you. If you know Jesus, if you have confessed your sins and asked for his forgiveness and accepted him as your lord and Savior you know your soul is saved. Yes there will be hardships, loss, suffering but it will pass. Life on earth is temporary, life in heaven, in his glory is eternal. If you want to accept him today, just say this prayer: Jesus, I know I'm a sinner and I need a savior. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died, paying the price for my sins, and rose again. I ask You to come into my life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Amen
