Marriage Ordained

We received an email today from a subscriber that spoke profoundly to my heart. Many of us who are married to a man behind the wall face criticism & judgement not just from society but even from those near & dear to us. Some friendships and family relations are severed because of that judgement. Well here is what Pynk has to say about that:

Having been married for now a bit over 18 years to someone that was incarcerated for over 20 years, before receiving clemency, I must let the non-believers know that marriage does not get more real than this! There are so many people that do not consider marriages to incarcerated men or women ‘real’ marriages. Why? defines ‘real’ as true; existing or occurring as fact; actual rather than imaginary, ideal, or fictitious. Anyone married in accordance with the law meets this criteria for ‘real’ hands down! But, more so, let’s adhere to this. When marriage was ordained by God there was no distinction made on the truth of the union based on the geographical location of either spouse! What comes to mind here is the vow “for better or for worse”. Worse could be any number of circumstances. So, if that worse thing at the moment is incarceration, does a person walk away if already married, or, not get married because of the incarceration that is already in place? Marriage is a true lifetime commitment. If you are reading this being married to someone behind the wall, never doubt the validity of your union. If you are considering marriage to someone behind the wall, once those vows are taken, by the laws of God and man it will be as REAL as it gets! Shalom, Pynk
